What is this programme and who is it for

The Súlykontroll Programme is a simple, transparent system that helps you reach and maintain your ideal weight more easily. It does not offer quick fixes, but rules and guidance that genuinely work in everyday life. The programme is for those who want to lose weight sustainably, regain their energy, or simply eat more consciously while still enjoying food.

How the system works

The SKI helps you navigate food choices so making good decisions is easier. The foundation of the Súlykontroll Programme is the SKI (Súlykontroll Index), which shows how well a food supports weight loss or maintenance. The lower the value, the more easily it fits into your daily diet; higher-value foods should be consumed less frequently.

The three phases

Phase 1

Phase 1 provides a fast, clean start with low SKI-value foods that kick-start weight loss and give momentum to continue. The emphasis is on vegetables, quality protein sources and fibre, avoiding fast-absorbing side dishes and added sugar.

7–10 days depending on excess weight.

Phase 2

A more varied diet that keeps you progressing towards your goal. Phase 2 is the stable, sustainable part of the Súlykontroll Programme. Medium SKI-value ingredients are gradually introduced alongside low SKI-value foods.

Continues until you reach your target weight.

Phase 3

Weight maintenance, when mindfulness becomes routine. The third phase is no longer a diet, but the lifestyle in which you keep everything you have achieved. There is much more freedom here: medium SKI-value foods form the everyday base, and from time to time higher SKI-value dishes can return to the menu. The goal is to eat in a varied and enjoyable way while keeping your weight stable. If you occasionally slip, it is easy to return to balance and continue what you have built.

This phase is for the long term. It does not mark a period of time, but the new, balanced lifestyle that helps you maintain your weight and your wellbeing.
